These things are good: ice cream and cake, a ride on a harley, seeing monkeys in the trees, the rain on my tongue, and the sun shining on my face. These things are a drag: dust in my hair, holes in my shoes, no money in my pocket, and the sun shining on my face.

"Holy shit, what a fucking freak"
really man? you are an ignorant piece of shit. you would only say some shit like that sitting behind a computer you pussy. if that was said face to face around me your face would look a lot worse off than rockys. rocky dennis is and always will be an intelligent amazing inspiration to us all. maybe not to an ignorant asshole like yourself but...
Rocky Dennis you are gone but not forgotten, truly amazing poem god bless you man take care see ya soon XX
I dont really understand the poem when he said the "sun shining on my face" twice , can som1 please. Help :)
Did you really know the real Rock Dennis ??
The guy that called him a freak might literally be the dumbest moron on the planet. Rocky might not a been attractive on the outside but he was beautiful inside. Do everyone in the world a favor and keep your stupid ass opinions to yourself.
When I'm down I think of the strength of this very strong young man. I was born way after Rocky passed, but I will never forget the brilliance and kindness this person brought to those around him.
I think he's just saying that it can also be a drag to have the sun shining on your face. Like when it's in your eyes..
??
Unfortunately, I feel he meant the sun felt good on his face, but it also shined light to his appearance that so many ignorant people would judge and ridicule him on. I bet he was a great kid. Always loved this poem, and that's what I got from it when I first heard it in the movie.
